Contracted at Bridgeport Board of Education to troubleshoot,
analyze and reengineer 25,000 user, 42 site ATM to frame interconnected network.
Designed private fiber network project which reduced month to month WAN lease
from third party $35,000 a month T1 and ATM infrastructure to private fiber,
gigabit network for $25,000 a month.
Managed WAN upgrade of 493 devices from Cisco 5500 to 6500, 4500 and 3550 switches. This update included
redesigning the single flat network into a 5 zone, 10 vlan/ school switched network infrastructure secured,
hierarchical firewalled and remotely managed utilizing Cisco 6509's with NAM's, IDS and firewall blades.
Maintained 24x7 WAN coverage with management oversight of up to five additional support engineers.
Designed, coordinated and implemented multi-level security policy and TACACS+ authentication monitoring system to track unauthorized access on NAS devices.
Re-cabled and reorganized core network infrastructure using a multi-colored and numbered cable scheme.
Rebuilt core DC servers and assisted in domain integration.
Coordinated FBI investigation of suspected terrorist activity
on the network. Worked first hand with agents to provide detailed and court
admissible evidence.
Coordinated secured DMZ and VPN installation.
Implemented core design upgrade from Cisco 5500 to Cisco Catalyst 6500 switch in multi-redundant design with 0 downtime.
Designed and implemented secured and automated network management intranet site coordinating all documentation, router configuration,
security logs, etc utilizing IpSwitch What's up Gold, CiscoWorks and MRTG network monitoring software.
Maintained 99.993% uptime over 3 years.
